Holt set to make first free-agent visit to Jaguars

The receiver-strapped Jaguars were scheduled to welcome veteran wideout Torry Holt to Jacksonville for a visit today, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported and coach Jack Del Rio later confirmed on NFL Network’s Total Access. The Rams tried to trade Holt but released him on March 13 to save nearly $8 million in salary-cap space.

The Jaguars have a great need at receiver after letting Reggie Williams‘ contract expire and releasing Jerry Porter and Matt Jones. The only three experienced receivers on the Jaguars’ roster right now are Dennis Northcutt, Troy Williamson and Mike Walker, none of whom match Holt’s career totals of 869 receptions, 12,660 receiving yards and 74 touchdowns.
