The Saints released safety Kevin Kaesviharn today after signing veteran free agent Pierson Prioleau, according to the Times-Picayune in New Orleans.
The Saints also recently signed veteran safety Darren Sharper as the team looks to revamp its secondary, which finished in the bottom third in the NFL in total defense in 2008. Pat Kirwan has the team selecting former Ohio State cornerback Malcolm Jenkins in his latest mock draft.
Kaesviharn spent two seasons in New Orleans and started 14 of the 27 games in which he played. Before that, Kaesviharn played for the Bengals for six seasons. He has 463 tackles and 17 interceptions in his NFL career.
