OT Smith mulling an offer from the 49ers

While San Francisco awaits a decision from veteran WR Isaac Bruce as to whether he is going to return for a 16th season, it is attempting to fortify its offensive line.

Barry Sims and Adam Snyder are currently competing for the starting right tackle job, reports the San Jose Mercury News, but the 49ers would like to add another veteran to the mix.

The newspaper reports OT Marvel Smith, who started five games last year for the Super Bowl champion Steelers, “is considering an offer from the 49ers and might make his decision over the weekend.”
