Vikings’ Jackson says he’s ready to compete

Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson found out that the team had acquired QB Sage Rosenfels about four days before the team officially announced the trade. The Star-Tribune reports that when Jackson heard the news, he was unfazed and actually looks forward to a little healthy competition.

“I’m still going to compete, and I’ll do exactly what I normally do,” he said. “I’ll do a lot better hopefully [than 2008]. I’m going to work hard. This might push me a little more but that’s what competition is all about. I’m not approaching this any differently than I did last year because I still went out and competed.”
