A couple of gold-diggers missed their chance to be wooed by Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney as part of an appearance on the Dr. Phil Show.

Though, Freeney was working incognito as a limo driver ushering the women to a taping of a show where they were set to discuss their gold-digging ways.

And there’s the rub. If you are going on a daytime talk show to discuss gold-digging, don’t you smell a setup when the limo driver asks you out on a date? Because that has to go against the limo driver’s code (if there is such a thing). Then again, the people who appear on daytime television aren’t likely going to hit a Mensa meeting following the taping.

Thus, the women were chagrined when it was confirmed that their limo driver signed a $72 million contract extension in 2007.

Freeney also learned a thing or two about gold-digging women, too.

“Yeah, it becomes a concern, and it kind of changes your lifestyle,” he told Dr. Phil. “As a guy, you want to go out there and find someone who’s genuine, somebody who likes you for you.”

I feel you on that one, Dwight.
