Roundup: Redskins sign Doughty

The Washington Times is reporting that the Redskins have re-signed unrestricted free-agent Reed Doughty to a one-year deal. Doughty began the 2008 season as the starter, but eventually lost his job to Chris Horton because of injuries. Doughty spent most of last season on the injured reserve after undergoing back surgery on Oct. 31.
- The Newark Star Ledger is reporting that free-agent LB David Bowens is the latest former Jets player to have signed with Eric Mangini and the Cleveland Browns. Bowens reportedly signed a four-year deal worth $7.2 million. The Ledger notes, “Mangini has now signed three former Jets — Bowens, DE C.J. Mosley and CB Hank Poteat — and Cleveland is negotiating with LB Eric Barton and S Abram Elam.”
- The Dallas Morning News is reporting that the Chargers have signed former Cowboys linebacker Kevin Burnett. UPDATE: The Chargers have confirmed the two-year deal on the team’s official site.
