Patriots continue cornerback rehaul, add Bodden

The Patriots and veteran CB Leigh Bodden have agreed to a one-year contract for the veteran minimum of $750,000, a league source told NFL.com’s Vic Carucci.

Bodden spent the 2008 season with the Lions after being traded from the Browns for DT Shaun Rogers. Bodden managed just one interception and was released by the Lions after the season. Rogers, meanwhile, turned in a Pro Bowl season with the Browns after making 76 tackles and 4.5 sacks.

Bodden is the second cornerback to join the Patriots in the last week. Shawn Springs came to New England over the weekend after signing a three-year contract that could be worth up to $13 million with incentives.
