Report: Cowboys to release S Williams

Moving is a perfect time to clear out some of those possessions that have lost their value, like that orange barcalounger or all of those old issues of Maxim magazine. No need to clutter your new home. And maybe that’s what Jerry Jones has in mind as he tweaks the Cowboys’ roster for 2009 and the team moves into its new stadium.

The Cowboys are close to releasing veteran safety Roy Williams, according to the team’s blog, True Blue, coming on the heels of reports on WR Terrell Owens‘ release. Williams has two years remaining on a five-year, $25.2 million extension that he signed.
