Whisenhunt to call offensive plays for Cards

Arizona Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt said he would call the offensive plays this season following the departure of offensive coordinator Todd Haley, who was hired as the head coach of the the Kansas City Chiefs.

Whisenhunt called the plays in 2007, his first season as Arizona’s coach, but he turned the duties over to Haley before the team’s run to the Super Bowl in 2008. Whisenhunt said he might not be calling plays permanently and that assistant head coach Russ Grimm or passing game coordinator Mike Miller could eventually take over play-calling duties.
