Steelers place franchise tag on OT Starks

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the Steelers have placed their franchise tag on OT Max Starks. The paper also said the Steelers are seeking a long-term deal with Starks.

The deal will guarantee the Starks $8.451 million in salary. Starks was a transitional player for the Steelers last season and was paid $6.9 million.
