Jaguars’ release of Taylor a stunner

In an even more stunning move out of Jacksonville, the Jaguars have released veteran RB Fred Taylor. The team is expected to announce the move later today.

It was no secret that Taylor’s future in Jacksonville was uncertain, but both sides hoped to work out an arrangement for him to finish his career in the city where it started. But they couldn’t do that, and Taylor now will become an unrestricted free agent. The franchise’s all-time leading rusher is leaving the Jaguars.

Last week, the Jaguars cut WR Jerry Porter and CB Drayton Florence, starting a purge that continued Monday.
