Pittsburgh Steelers linebackers coach Keith Butler pulled out of consideration for the Arizona Cardinals’ defensive coordinator vacancy, choosing instead to stay with the Super Bowl champions, the Arizona Republic reported.
That means the Cardinals likely will fill the job from within the organization.
Late last week, KTAR 620 AM in Phoenix reported that the Cardinals had decided to give the defensive coordinator position to their linebackers coach, Bill Davis. But that was before the Steelers gave the Cardinals permission to talk to Butler.
Still, Butler won’t move to the desert, instead staying put in the Steel City.
