Ravens free up cap space by cutting CB McAlister

Just as Jacksonville made a big roster move Monday, so did Baltimore.
The Ravens released cornerback Chris McAlister, freeing up $8 million against the salary cap to use to try to re-sign linebackers Ray Lewis and Terrell Suggs, according to a team official.
It’s no surprise the Ravens released McAlister, who feuded with the team this past season. But his departure creates the salary-cap flexibility the team needs.
