Soon-to-be free agent QB Kerry Collins has said in the past that he will only return to the Titans as the team’s starting quarterback.
So he had to be pleased to hear coach Jeff Fisher tell The Tennessean that Collins had the starting job if he returns:
- “We don’t know what the market’s going to be,” Fisher said. “I believe that Kerry has every intention of coming back. And if he comes back, for all intents and purposes, he’s our starter, and Vince waits. If he doesn’t, then we’ll deal with that, but our interest right now is to try and get Kerry back.”
Collins started 15 of 16 games and earned a spot in the Pro Bowl after throwing for 2,676 yards with 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions, leading the Titans to the AFC’s No. 1 seed with a 13-3 record.
