Raiders’ McFadden, Russell had surgery

The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that Darren McFadden and JaMarcus Russell underwent surgery recently.

McFadden had surgery on his ailing left shoulder last month in Arkansas, according to the newspaper report. McFadden injured his shoulder in Week 2 against the Chiefs, and also had his rookie season marred with a series of turf toe injuries. The fourth overall draft pick finished with 499 rushing yards and only four touchdowns.

Russell had minor surgery to remove bone chips from his right ankle. Something that owner Al Davis alluded to during the team’s press conference for Tom Cable last week.
