Kurt Warner has long contended that if he was going to continue his NFL playing career, he was going to do it with the Arizona Cardinals. But could that stance be softening?
The New York Post is reporting that Warner’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, has said that the veteran signal caller would keep his options open if negotiations with the Cardinals broke off.
- Kurt Warner’s agent told ESPN 1050 radio the quarterback would have an open mind if negotiations with the Cardinals break off. That, theoretically, could lead him to the New York Jets .
- “We are going to have an open-mind to anything,” Mark Bartelstein told the station. “Certainly we are going to talk to the Cardinals first. If something doesn’t happen there, then we are going to have an open-mind.”
That would certainly be big news to teams looking for a quarterback, including the Jets. Another possible destination could be Kansas City, which recently hired former Arizona offensive coordinator Todd Haley. The Vikings, Bears, Buccaneers and Lions could all be in the market for Warner if he were to come available and had an “open mind.”
In the meantime, Warner has been making the talk show rounds with a stop by Ellen, and then a trip to the Tonight Show on Friday night. The big question, did Warner dance when he showed up on the Ellen show? (You might have to scroll for the video, but it will be worth it.)
