The Brett Favre watch has been moved to the Big Apple, but don’t look for a decision to be made in a New York minute.
Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum told the New York Post that he would like to have a decision from Favre before free agency starts on Feb. 27, but it might not happen. And Tannenbaum is cool with that.
- “Even though we may be speaking doesn’t necessarily mean a decision on his part needs to be final by the start of free agency,” Tannenbaum said. “We haven’t formulated any timetable. We’ll know more in next few weeks, but we haven’t had any dialogue [about his decision]. We have not set a hard and fast date.”
Tannenbaum did go on to say that he would like Favre to return as the Jets’ QB for the 2009 season.
