Titans, Haynesworth aren’t close to a deal

The Nashville City Paper is reporting that the Titans and DT Albert Haynesworth are still far apart on a new contract. The Titans reportedly have made an initial contract offer to Haynesworth, but there’s still some work to do. Haynesworth was tagged as a franchise player last season and met incentives worked into the deal in order to reach free agency this year.

The Tennessean is reporting that the contract talks between the Titans and QB Kerry Collins haven’t progressed. Collins has said he won’t return to the Titans unless he’s their starter.
