Goodell spends restless night waiting for news

In the midst of one of the most exciting Super Bowls ever, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell‘s thoughts were with Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson, who was scheduled for a heart transplant Sunday night at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.

“I thought about him the entire game and the entire night,” Goodell told the Charlotte Observer.

By the end of the night, Goodell learned that the procedure went well and the initial news was positive. Charles Chandler of The Charlotte Observer has more.
