First, let me applaud the work of Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco. Both did a great job of managing their teams and avoiding the rookie mistakes that you usually see at the quarterback position. That said, I think we have to be careful about crowning them the next anything. Let’s just sit back and watch.

When Eric Mangini launched his NFL career as a ball boy at the age of 23, it was in Cleveland. When Mangini landed his first NFL coaching job, it was for then Browns coach Bill Belichick, and it was in Cleveland. When Mangini ventured to visit his brother-in-law, Indians general manager Mark Shapiro, it was in Cleveland. When the Jets traded for Brett Favre this summer, Mangini met him for the first time where New York was about to play a preseason game in Cleveland.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that Reggie Bush underwent microfracture surgery on his left knee in mid-December. Saints general manager Mickey Loomis said he still expects Bush to be ready in time for the team’s first minicamp in early June, but such procedures are difficult to put a timetable on.
