It’s official: As previously reported by NFL Network’s Adam Schefter, Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin is inactive for Saturday night’s NFC divisional-round matchup with the Carolina Panthers.

Titans’ Johnson injures ankle; return questionable

And the hits just keep on coming … Titans RB Chris Johnson has an ankle injury. His return is “questionable.” He had 11 carries for 72 yards in the first half. He also had one catch for 28 yards.

Saturday’s contenders in good shape for 2009

NFL teams believe in now. But they also plan for the future. The teams involved in this weekend’s divisional playoff games are football’s top eight teams, but all are fairly well positioned for next season. Just take a look at Saturday’s teams and where they’re projected to be in relation to next season’s approximate $123 million salary cap.

Suggs is the latest Raven to suffer an injury

Ravens LB Terrell Suggs left the game a few minutes ago and is questionable to return. We’re being told in the press box that Suggs’ injury is a “shoulder sprain.”

Marinelli not the only family member finding work

On the same day that Rod Marinelli accepted the Chicago Bears’ assistant head coach/defensive line job, his son-in-law also found work.

Bradley hired as Seahawks’ defensive coordinator

Just as Chicago added a defensive coach, Seattle did the same. Gus Bradley, the Buccaneers former linebackers coach, will be named Seattle’s new defensive coordinator, a league source said Saturday.

Titans’ Hall, White jawing on sideline

Something seems to have happened between Titans FB Ahmard Hall and RB LenDale White. They were jawing at each other on the field. Hall went to the sideline and kept talking to people around him. Then, when White came off the field, he went right to Hall, and they started yelling at each other. A few seconds later, they were pushing one another and had to be broken up.

McClain suffers ankle injury; return probable

It was just announced in the press box that Ravens RB Le’Ron McClain’s injury, which we just saw, is to his ankle. His return is “probable.”

Weather making things interesting in Nashville

Just made it up to the press box at LP Field after a 2½-hour pregame show on the field. The temperature has dropped dramatically since we first arrived this morning around 11 a.m. local time. It feels like it’s about 15 degrees cooler. I was told that it was 58 degrees when we arrived and that it might get down to about 32 degrees by the end of the game.

Moments ago, former Lions head coach Rod Marinelli agreed to become the assistant head coach/defensive line of the Chicago Bears.

Pro Bowl center Mawae officially out for Titans

As expected, the Titans made injured Pro Bowl C Kevin Mawae inactive for Saturday’s AFC Divisional Playoff Game against the Ravens.
