Pennsylvania’s NFL teams –- the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles — are two of the league’s top-run organizations. Both teams have positioned themselves incredibly well for the 2009 season in relation to the salary cap.

In the first game of Saturday’s AFC Divisional Playoffs, the Ravens and Lions won, and the Titans, Rams and Jets lost.
Now that the Ravens have advanced, the Rams and Jets must wait to hire Baltimore defensive coordinator Rex Ryan.
But with the Titans knocked out of the playoffs, the Lions now are free to talk again with Tennessee defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz if they so chose.

Player correspondent Keith Brooking is really impressed with the Cardinals’ strategy to move Larry Fitzgerald around before the snap. If you leave him out wide (where he usual lines up when Anquan Boldin plays), then it’s easier to roll a coverage to him or straight up double him.

The Baltimore Ravens reminded the Tennessee Titans on Saturday that the best defense flattens ball-carriers. That the best one pops balls loose all over the field.
That’s what the Ravens did in winning 13-10 at LP Field and earning a spot in the AFC Championship Game.
