Connecting the dots between Pioli, Haley

Many have drawn the connection between Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli and Cardinals offensive coordinator Todd Haley through Dolphins executive Bill Parcells, who’s Pioli’s father-in-law and Haley’s former boss.
But there’s another more direct connection between Pioli and Haley. From 1997 through 2000, the two worked together with the New York Jets.
Pioli was the Jets’ director of pro personnel, Haley the wide receivers coach. The two spent three seasons together in New York before Pioli moved on to the New England Patriots and Haley moved on to the Chicago Bears.
Now many believe that Pioli and Haley could wind up together again in Kansas City, with Haley serving as Pioli’s head coach. But it also should be noted that Pioli hasn’t confirmed any of this speculation and, until he does, it remains just speculation that Haley is a leading candidate for the Chiefs’ job.
Pioli has to be waiting for somebody and something, and Haley is as logical a choice as anybody else.
