LB Morgan tells Saints he’s hoping to return

The Times-Picayune in New Orleans reported that oft-injured LB Dan Morgan will attempt to return to the Saints next season:

Linebacker Dan Morgan has informed the Saints he intends to return to the NFL after a one-year retirement, general manager Mickey Loomis confirmed. The Saints will maintain Morgan’s rights if he is reinstated, though it’s not clear if they want to keep him under contract or if he wants to look to play elsewhere.

Morgan, 30, signed a one-year deal prior to the 2008 season after trying to return from an Achilles tendon injury and concussions. Morgan started a career-high 13 games in 2005, but he has played in just four games since then.
