Though Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward could not finish Sunday’s AFC Championship Game because of a knee injury, Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin intimated that Ward is expected to play against Arizona in Super Bowl XLIII.
“In his mind, he’s playing — so chances are he is,” Tomlin admitted Tuesday about the player who is the heart and soul of the Steelers. “We’re not counting him out. We’re saving a spot on the bus for 86.”
Last time 86 played in a Super Bowl, he won MVP honors. The early indications are that he will get another chance at another trophy.
