Lions begin offensive coordinator search

Detroit’s next big hire will be its offensive coordinator, and the work has begun.
The Lions interviewed former Broncos wide receivers coach Jedd Fisch on Monday for the position. Like Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels and Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris, Fisch is 32 years old. Ex-Broncos coach Mike Shanahan has spoken of Fisch in an impressive way, saying his former receivers coach is ready to be an offensive coordinator.
Fisch is the first known candidate to interview for the Lions’ offensive coordinator job, though Detroit also is looking at other candidates. The team also has considered former Broncos offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates, who took a job Monday at USC, and Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.
