The Arizona Cardinals have the chance to be one of the NFL’s all-time surprise teams, a champion few expected. Just as significant, it becomes a model for franchises that have struggled on their own to follow one.
Now that the Cardinals have reached the final Sunday of the season and their first Super Bowl, only five NFL franchises remain that never have advanced to football’s biggest stage.
The five franchises never to play in the Super Bowl: The Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars and New Orleans Saints. If the Cardinals can do it, there’s no reason those other five can’t, either.
