Thanks to Troy Polamalu‘s 40-yard interception return for a touchdown, the Pittsburgh Steelers are headed to their seventh Super Bowl.
The Steelers defeated the Baltimore Ravens 23-14 in the AFC Championship Game and will face the Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII on Feb. 1 in Tampa. The Cardinals are first-time participants in the Super Bowl.
The Steelers led the Ravens 16-14 with under five minutes remaining in the game when Polamalu stepped in front of a Joe Flacco pass for an interception and zig-zagged his way into the end zone for the clinching score.
Pittsburgh is 5-1 in Super Bowls, with the only loss coming to the Dallas Cowboys to end the 1995 season. The Steelers, Cowboys (5-3) and San Francisco 49ers (5-0) are tied for the most Super Bowl wins with five.
Dallas holds the record for most Super Bowl appearances with eight.
