NFL coaching now a young man’s game

Stop the Mike Shanahan talk. Forget the Tony Dungy speculation. Drop the Bill Cowher conversation.

The favorite to become the Buccaneers’ next head coach is Tampa Bay defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, who was a finalist for the Broncos’ head-coaching job.

Almost overnight, we have seen the NFL turn into a young man’s league on the sidelines, with the 32-year-old Josh McDaniels landing the Denver job, the 37-year-old Eric Mangini landing the Cleveland job (his second), the 42-year-old Jim Schwartz landing the Lions job and the 32-year-old Morris now becoming the favorite to land the Tampa job.
