The NFC Championship Game will be a rematch for the Eagles and Cardinals from earlier this season. This game is also a championship game rematch between quarterbacks Donovan McNabb and Kurt Warner. The two met when St. Louis played host to Philadelphia in the 2001 NFC Championship Game, in which Warner was victorious.
The two have a long history and when McNabb struggled earlier this season, it was Warner who said that the Eagles veteran quarterback would return to his typical high level of play. Here is what Warner the prophet said before their Thanksgiving Day matchup.
- “The one thing I always realize is the cream rises to the top,” Warner said. “I believe he’s one of the best in the league, and he’s going to show that again, whether that’s Thursday night or the following weekend or wherever he goes moving forward. He’s going to separate himself like he always has.”
Amazing, the Eagles fans were ready to run McNabb out of town earlier this year. Now they are asking if he is a Hall of Fame quarterback.
