Cable free to talk to other teams starting Tuesday

In the unpredictable world that is known as the Raiders, team owner Al Davis has continued talking with and courting his interim head coach, Tom Cable.
However, Cable’s contract also expires Tuesday, making him free to talk to anybody without any permission. In fact, just before they hired Eric Mangini, the Cleveland Browns reached out to speak with Cable, though no interview ever was scheduled.
With Cable coming free, he is expected to draw interest from other teams looking for an offensive coordinator or offensive line coach. Cable’s dilemma will be whether to wait on Davis and the Raiders, or to take an attractive opportunity that comes his way.
So it’s not just Davis with options; Cable has them as well.
