Lions might make a front-office hire

While the Lions have launched an extensive head-coaching search, they also have quietly explored hiring another front-office man to match with chief operating officer Tom Lewand and general manager Martin Mayhew.

Amongst the men the Lions have contacted to complete their front-office trial of power is former Browns general manager Phil Savage and former Jaguars vice president of player personnel James “Shack” Harris. The Lions also have debated interviewing – if they haven’t already done it – former Broncos GM Ted Sundquist.

Other candidates are under consideration, but Savage, Harris and Sundquist are the known ones.
