Cable wants the Raiders, but will they pick him?

Following extensive talks with Raiders owner Al Davis, Tom Cable has made an even more convincing case as to why the interim tag should be dropped from his head-coach title.
Cable loves the Raiders, led them to a strong finish last season and would be a superb choice.
But the Raiders haven’t stopped looking. They’re scheduled to interview Packers assistant head coach Winston Moss, a former Raiders linebacker, sometime in the middle of this week. Moss is a no-nonsense, hard-working and highly intense coach.
Once Moss interviews, a decision could be reached. Davis has made no secret of the fact that he wants to wrap up his search sooner rather than later. It also would give him more time to help replace some of the assistant coaches he lost this week.
If there’s one strike working against Cable, it’s that he initially wasn’t Davis’ hire, he was Lane Kiffin’s. And Kiffin and the Raiders had a nasty divorce. But Cable has distinguished himself as a worthy and deserving candidate.
