Will Williams toughen up defense in the Big Easy?

Now that Gregg Williams will not return to Jacksonville as the Jaguars’ defensive coordinator, he’s trying to figure out where he will be next season.

The favorite is the New Orleans Saints, who met with Williams last week. After Williams visited the Saints, he traveled to Green Bay to meet with the Packers about their defensive-coordinator job.

But the Saints would like Williams to be their defensive coordinator, the man responsible for trying to turn around a unit that disappointed New Orleans last season. New Orleans’ proximity and personnel would appeal to Williams and his family as well. It makes the tandem a logical match.

Williams is expected to make his decision early this week.
