Flacco primarily relying on Mason

Here’s a halftime stat that the Ravens should be worried about. Titans WR Justin Gage has more yards than the entire Baltimore offense (95 to 94).
So far, the only Ravens player with a catch in this one is Derrick Mason. With 11:00 to go in the third quarter, Mason has five catches for 78 yards. Player correspondent Trent Green noticed that stat and pointed it out to me right before Joe Flacco tried to go to Todd Heap for the first time today. That attempt didn’t go well for the Ravens or Heap. Not only did he drop the ball, but he also got hit pretty hard — high and low as he tried to come down with the ball. He was slow to get up and limped off the field. Remember, he already admitted to me earlier today that his back hurt pretty bad due to spasms. That hit couldn’t have helped. Green points out, though — watching the replay of the hit — that Heap might have just had the wind knocked out of him.
To this point, the Ravens have used Heap primarily as a blocker, but they did use him to draw a defender away from Mason on his 48-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter.
