The Eagles and Giants will meet for the third time this season, a cantankerous rivalry pitting two teams, fan bases and even cities that have nothing but disdain for each other. Conversely, the Cardinals and Panthers will meet for the second-time this season, but there isn’t much — if any — bad-blood between the two clubs. Compared to the other NFC tilt, you almost expect the Cardinals and Panthers to don ascots as they do battle.
Charlotte Observer columnist Tom Sorensen says that it’s o.k. to not hate the Cardinals.
- How do you hate the Cardinals? They’re to football what the Tampa Bay Rays are to baseball. I’m sure there are bad guys on the team, but the team gets so little attention we’ll never know. The players I have spent a little time around –- Kurt Warner, Larry Fitzgerald -– I like. And the only people who hate Phoenix have never been there. MORE
Another cool thing happening in Carolina — they are giving away free tickets. Hard to hate that.
