Add Boston College coach Jeff Jagodzinski to the New York Jets’ list of head-coaching candidates.
Jagodzinski is scheduled to interview for the job Tuesday. Two of the leading candidates are Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer and Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. The Jets also will interview Brian Billick this week.
Jagodzinski, along with quarterback Matt Ryan, led Boston College to an 11-3 record and a win over Michigan State in the Champs Sports Bowl during the coach’s first season in 2007. The Eagles were 9-5 in 2008.
Jagodzinski was an NFL assistant, serving with the Packers as tight ends coach from 1999 to 2003 and the Falcons as offensive line coach in 2004 and 2005. He was Mike McCarthy‘s offensive coordinator in Green Bay in 2006.
