Chargers in familiar position

The Chargers defeated the Colts in the divisional round last season, with LaDainian Tomlinson riding a stationary bike on the sidelines for most of the second half while battling a knee injury. The Chargers were forced to turn to reserves, including current Falcons running back Michael Turner and backup quarterback Billy Volek, to advance to the AFC Championship Game.
The Chargers are going with backups again against the Colts as Tomlinson has a groin tear. Even with Tomlinson getting only five carries in the first half, the Chargers led 14-10. He left with 25 yards rushing and scored on a 3-yard run in the second quarter.
Darren Sproles scored on a 56-yard touchdown in the Chargers’ victory last season. He reached the end zone on a 9-yard run to give San Diego its first lead on Saturday night.
