Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett‘s star might have fallen some in Dallas, but it has not fallen much around the league.
The Denver Broncos will interview Garrett in Denver on Tuesday, according to a league source. Garrett was the hottest head coaching candidate last season with opportunities to coach either Baltimore or Atlanta, but elected to return to Dallas. Garrett also is scheduled to speak with the Detroit Lions in the coming days.
But the Broncos are not done with their coaching search. They also are scheduled to meet this weekend with Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo and Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, and next week with Buccaneers defensive coordinator Raheem Morris.
With offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates on staff with his new two-year extension, some have wondered whether Denver will look to hire a defensive-minded head coach. In a word, no. The Broncos plan to hire the best man for the job.
Adam Schefter will have a one-on-one interview with Mike Shanahan this weekend, click here for a sneak peak.
