As anticipated, LaDainian Tomlinson was sore on Monday, a day after he suffered a groin injury in the Chargers’ 52-21 win over the Broncos that clinched the AFC West. Chargers coach Norv Turner confirmed the injury is a strained groin, but offered little else on Tomlinson’s ability to practice as the team prepares to host the Colts.
“He’s a little sore, but again they expect him as the week goes on to get better and be able to practice and be ready to play,” said Turner. “We’ll keep a close watch on that.”
Tomlinson, who played in all 16 games this season despite a lingering toe injury, will have a short week to recover.
“No, I don’t think I’ll be 100 percent but we’ll see what happens day-to-day, see how it goes and see what happens on Saturday,” Tomlinson said.
