Interview process underway

Teams that fired coaches already are turning in requests to interview other candidates.

One of the first teams to turn in a request was the Detroit Lions, who requested an interview with Washington Redskins secondary-cornerbacks coach Jerry Gray.

Gray was the defensive coordinator in Buffalo, and has a good reputation around the league. He is one of the first candidates the Lions requested to interview, but not the last.

If it hasn’t happened already today, Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo and Titans defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz are expected to be asked to interview for vacant head coaching jobs.
