The Dolphins and Ravens took control of their playoff futures on Sunday. Both won, and both are in the AFC playoffs.
The Dolphins went on the road and defeated the Jets 24-17, winning the AFC East and securing the No. 3 seed. The Dolphins will host the Ravens, who had little trouble in a 27-7 win over the Jaguars to secureĀ a wild-card spot as the No. 6 seed. The win by the Ravens eliminated the Patriots (11-5), who become just the second 11-win team since the merger to not make the playoffs.
The final playoff spot will be determined by what amounts to a play-in game tonight between the Chargers and Broncos for the AFC West division title. The winner, as the AFC’s No. 4 seed, will host the Colts in the wild-card round.
