Browns fire Savage, Crennel could be next

The Cleveland Browns have fired general manager Phil Savage, a team official confirmed Sunday night. The Browns will officially announce the move Monday, the same day Browns coach Romeo Crennel is scheduled to meet with team owner Randy Lerner. It is widely expected that Crennel also will be let go.

Savage, in his fourth season as GM, signed a three-year contract extension during the offseason that ran through 2012. The Browns, who went 4-12 this season following a 10-6 mark last season,  are 24-40 over the last four seasons.
