Patriots will be pulling for … Jets?

Only the NFL could produce a scenario that is as at-odds with reality as two rival franchises.
But Sunday, the New England Patriots will be forced to root for none other than the New York Jets.
New England needs to beat Buffalo, then have the Jets beat Miami for the Patriots to advance to the postseason.
New England could also use a Jacksonville upset over Baltimore, but the more realistic scenario is the Jets beating the Dolphins. That’s the Patriots’ best hope.
So the Patriots will be pulling for the Jets. They are pulling for their own Evil Empire, the franchise that has signed some of its players, lured some of its coaches and turned in New England during the videotape scandal.
Sheesh, what’s next? The Red Sox rooting for the Yankees? Ohio State rooting for Michigan?
Only the NFL.
