No snow angels: Welker fined $10K

The NFL has already sent a message that it will not tolerate its players throwing oversized snowballs at its fans.

Now it has sent another: No snow angels.

The NFL fined Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker $10,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct Sunday, specifically for doing a snow angel. It was not, technically, the snow angel that got Welker nailed. Rather, it was the act of participating in an illegal demonstration by going to the ground.

The league has specific rules against it. And even though they don’t say it, players would be well-advised to note it.

No snow angels.
