Ravens’ second choice not too bad

At almost this time last season, Baltimore desperately tried to hire Dallas offensive coordinator Jason Garrett.
Instead, Garrett opted to remain in Dallas and Baltimore was forced to move on, choosing Eagles special teams coordinator John Harbaugh as its new head coach.
Now, Garrett’s Cowboys will square off against Harbaugh’s Ravens on Saturday night on NFL Network in a game whose winner is likely to go to the playoffs and whose loser likely will be home for them.
As disappointed as Baltimore was not to lure in Garrett, the decision to hire Harbaugh could not have worked out any better. He has been, along with the other rookie NFL coaches Tony Sparano in Miami and Mike Smith in Atlanta, one of the season’s shining lights.
And Harbaugh can thank Garrett for making it possible.
