Jones-Drew avoids serious injury

The Jaguars had an injury scare late in Thursday’s loss to the Colts when RB Maurice Jones-Drew appeared to injure his lower left leg. Jones-Drew was injured on the third-to-last play of the game on a first down reception, and had to be helped off the field by trainers. Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio updated the injury after the game.

“It feels like he got a little bruise, and that he’ll be ok,” Del Rio said during his postgame news conference. “He’s walking around in there right now, so that was really good news. He took a shot there late.”

Jones-Drew rushed 20 times for 91 yards, and caught seven receptions for 71 yards (video highlights). He now leads NFL running backs in receiving yards (555) and receptions (61).
