Quarterbacks are always in the spotlight, but today the spotlight shines on backup quarterbacks.

Buffalo quarterback J.P. Losman is expected to start for injured Trent Edwards against the New York Jets, Minnesota quarterback Tarvaris Jackson is expected to start for injured Gus Frerotte at Arizona, and Seattle quarterback Seneca Wallace is expected to start for injured Matt Hasselbeck at St. Louis.

It’s a chance for each to shine and to stake a claim to a starting job somewhere, if not with his current team. Of the three, only Edwards is entrenched in the long term, so there’s plenty at stake for three different quarterbacks today, aside from just a single game.
