Pennington mentioned in MVP talk

Cardinals QB Kurt Warner has dominated the MVP discussion for most of the season, but Sun-Sentinel columnist Ethan J. Skolnick believes that Dolphins QB Chad Pennington deserves some consideration. Pennington has long been the forgotten third domino in the Brett Favre-Aaron Rodgers soap opera during the offseason, but he could lead the Dolphins from a 1-15 record in 2007 to the playoffs this season.
- His name hasn’t surfaced often in that conversation, because he has thrown fewer than one touchdown per contest, led a team that few have taken seriously and gotten lost in the overblown Wildcat hype. But that name should surface now. While Pennington doesn’t have a signature moment, other than perhaps his drive for a field goal to beat Oakland, one lurks on the schedule:
- Dec. 28 in the Meadowlands, against the team that dumped him, against the quarterback who replaced him, possibly for the division.
- A win couldn’t get more signature than that. MORE
