Rams look good in practice, but not on Sundays

If football teams were ranked by what they did Wednesday through Saturday, the Rams might be No. 1. But activities on Sunday matter too, and the Rams have managed just two wins this season. Bill Coats of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Rams coach Jim Haslett is frustrated because practices seem to go well, and then on game day the Rams find themselves in a hole early.
- Not only do the Rams stumble on game day, their biggest missteps often come early. In Sunday’s 34-10 loss at Arizona, they fell behind 14-0 in the first 11 minutes. Previously, the Rams had been crushed beneath first-half deficits of 40-0, 35-3, 27-6, 21-0, 24-3 and 24-7. They’ve been outscored 247-97 in first halves for the season. MORE
